Our Common Sense Policy
Your music. Your rights. Our shared responsibility. And a little grace when things go wrong.
This policy is a statement of values and how we aim to behave. It is guidance, not a waiver: it does not give up any of your legal rights, and it does not reduce our obligations under applicable security and privacy law. Where legal obligations are concerned, our Terms & Conditions and Privacy notice prevail.
1. Your music stays yours
Songs, recordings, lyrics, artwork, press releases, photos, videos and any other materials uploaded to SongCascade remain the property of their respective content owners. Using SongCascade does not transfer ownership of anything to us: not your masters, not your publishing, not your artwork, not your words.
We use what you upload only to run the service you asked for: storing it, moving it to the territories you choose, and helping your teams localise and approve it. Nothing more.
2. Embargoes are respected, and we take security seriously
We know that release plans, embargoes and confidential campaigns are sensitive. We treat confidential material as confidential, we honour embargoes, and we use reasonable technical and organisational security to protect what you place in SongCascade.
If you share something with us under trust, we act like a partner who can be trusted with it.
3. When things go wrong, we put them right
Accidents and technology failures can happen, to us and to everyone. If something goes wrong with your material, we will respond promptly, communicate openly, investigate properly, take steps to limit the impact, and do what we reasonably can to put things right.
We will not hide behind silence. You will hear from us, not about us.
4. Sometimes a mishap opens a door, but harm is never minimised
In music and in marketing, an unexpected mishap sometimes leads to an unexpected opportunity: a story, a connection, a fresh start. We will always look for those silver linings with you.
But a silver lining is never an excuse. If a mistake caused real harm, we will not talk it down or wave it away. We will acknowledge it and address it.
5. Kindness, fairness and proportionality
We aim to be kind, fair and proportionate in how we operate: authorised use of materials only, sensible decisions, and no disproportionate reactions to small problems.
Where AI assists with drafts or localisation, its output is checked by humans before it matters. People, not machines, make the decisions that affect your work.
6. Trust, built together
SongCascade works because labels, publishers, artist teams, ministries and local teams choose to trust each other across borders and time zones. We want to earn that trust and keep it, openly, collaboratively and with a little grace when things go wrong.
Build once. Cascade everywhere. Be kind along the way.
